Dear YuppiesPuppies families, friends and website visitors,
The bible states that there is a ‘time’ for all things and I believe that ‘now’ is the right time to close YuppiesPuppies.com and to move forward and begin the next chapter of my life. Please know that this was a very difficult decision to make and I treasure the friendships we were blessed with along the way! For a little history........It all began 10 ½ years ago. Our 18 year-old golden retriever, Chelsea, passed away and Wanda and I started searching for a new puppy. A puppy that would somehow hopefully fill the huge hole in our hearts. I do believe that God blesses us every day and as fate would have it, Wanda answered an interesting puppy ad in the newspaper. On the other end of the phone call was exceptional breeder, Carolyn Brawner. Carolyn grew up in a multi-generation of breeders within her family and her expertise with the care and health of her litters was outstanding! Together, Wanda and Carolyn chose ‘Boo’, our Yorkie Poo and Boo was, and is, our perfect personal pet to this day. Before spaying Boo however, Wanda wanted her to have a litter of puppies. We decided to mate Boo with one of Carolyn’s Maltese males and two months later, Boo had birthed a litter of 7 gorgeous, healthy designer Malti-Yorkie Poo puppies. Wanda had already pre-placed every puppy with a great new family within a week after they were born. For those of you who were fortunate enough to deal with Wanda over the years, you know her excellent sales ability and knowledge of each litter was second to none. She had mastered the craft of matching puppies to the right families they needed. After the success and joy of Boo’s litter, Wanda and I asked Carolyn to become our mentor and to teach us the right way to be excellent breeders; showing us the ‘ins and outs’ of the process. After much discussion, thoughts, and prayer, Carolyn agreed to mentor us and thus, YuppiesPuppies.com was born!
Carolyn was our partner while we worked to build our facility and to learn so we could become the best. From day one, our goal was to provide healthy, happy, emotionally stable puppies. Puppies that would remain with your family for the rest of their normal life span. Typically, life span is considered to be 15 to 16 years. I take pride that I never allowed any puppy to leave our nursery if this wasn’t the case at hand. Unfortunately, just as in human life, there were rare exceptions and conditions, yet I believe in my heart that no matter what, YuppiesPuppies.com tried to be fair and ethical, always trying to ‘do the right thing’ for the new family and the puppy. And, from our families’ feedback along the years, we were successful. In this, we take pride.
I want to thank some of the people who were directly responsible for the success of YuppiesPuppies.com. First, of course was Wanda and before retiring in October, 2009, she worked selfishly to provide the perfect fit for each interested family. Wanda carried the entire workload of the puppies and also a full time job on the side while I was still able to keep working as a truck driver. And the business grew and grew beyond our expectations. Her contributions and efforts proved her to be a very special person and to all of you that know her, you know that. Then there was Sheryl. Sheryl has been our dedicated webmaster (hired in 2003) and a long-time personal family friend. She took photos and created and updated the website for us and loved every minute of it. She will miss the opportunity very much. At this time we also need to express our gratitude to our groomer, Karen. As the operation grew with more and more dames and sires, Karen would load up and come to our kennels to groom onsite. What a wonderful situation that was for us and we are so grateful to her professionalism and her friendship! We highly recommend her as a groomer. Call Karen’s Dog House of Beauty in Livingston, TN (931-823-9626 or Toll free 1-877-738-2547 for all of your grooming needs! Then there were the veterinarians that offered incredible levels of care for our busy kennels. Dr. John Parker, at Ragland and Riley clinic, Dr. Lori Murray, Dr. R.L.Donaldson, and Dr. Julia Adams each assisted us through the good times and the bad times. They each are an asset to their profession and I really enjoyed the relationship YuppiesPuppies had with them and their wonderful staff over the years.
And so, with this all said, I graciously thank you all from the bottom of my heart. The memories I have will be with me always! Now, as we take a look to the future, the blessing that I am most grateful for is this. When I called Carolyn again recently and asked her to consider taking my dames and sires, she did! I personally urge you to contact her when you are ready for that new family member. You will find her contact information below. The site will remain available for viewing until the prepaid hosting subscription expires. The information on this page however will not change from this point forward.
We are truly proud of the 'stars' that were born..........
